Sushi & Fashion

Sushi and Fashion Event Review:
(Please, forgive my bad writing English!) by Laura Reyes
This past March 25th Sae Otomo our Japanese chef, Lola Cortina the “Feline Rescue” Director and I, had our “Sushi and Fashion” event to start our Japanese Month in Laura Reyes’ Art and Fashion Studio. Tickets were sold out a couple of days before the event. Yeah!
Everybody came on time and we had a full house! The event took place in the back garden and we rented red tablecloths, chairs and wine glasses for the occasion. Everything looked perfect and neat and I was very impress with Sae Otomo professionalism and details: Placemats were hand made paper with Japanese calligraphy by her, each table had a handmade origami bird, flowers in the center and the Japanese sticks with Sae’s name on it. She worn an authentic Japanese kimono and was walking around with little steps all over the place. The Japanese inspire fashion by me and my students and the antique kimonos from Divas on a Budget were display in the walls and in mannequins. And I felt proud of everything. (Uploaded some pictures in Divas on a Budget Facebook page)
Everybody was sitting comfortably, glass of wine in hand, surrender by Japanese inspired fashion, listening to Japanese music while trying to read the beautiful Japanese calligraphy, And then….. It rained!!!!
There you go the handmade placemats, the origami bird, the tablecloths and the one of a kind fashions….. Everybody run inside and we ended up having dinner with no tables and surrounded by all kind of clothes!!!
What a nice group of people we had! Everybody was wonderful and understanding. And, at the end: it was a wet success. The feedback was very positive, the food according to our guest was exquisite and the kittens were happy! Sae Otomo, Lola Cortina and  I would like to thank all of you that came for your understanding and support!   San Miguel is really an incredible town! Thank you!!!
The One of a kind Japanese Inspired Fashion will remain on display until April 30th
